About the event

Voted the UK’s favourite Christmas market in 2017, it’s easy to see why people love getting into the festive spirit in Bath. Against the backdrop of the city's Roman baths and magnificent 16th-century abbey, over 200 twinkling chalets line the Georgian streets.

For a bustling, atmospheric feel, look around the traditional wooden stalls during lunchtimes and weekends. For a slower, less crowded meander, visit in the mornings or on weekday evenings. Whenever you decide to go, you’ll be delighted by the choirs, carollers and musicians floating their festive tunes across the market.

Nourished by Britain's only natural hot springs, Bath is a city shaped by its waters. We will visit the magnificent Roman Baths temple and you `ll have an opportunity to bathe in Bath's warm, mineral-rich waters at Thermae Bath Spa.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS

There were over 200 chalets (that’s 30 more than 2016!), packed with high quality Christmas gifts, homewares, tasty food and drink, jewellery and much more. It is our chalets and the individual stallholders who make our Market so special and unique. Over 80% of the stallholders came from Bath and the South West, and an impressive 99% of all products were either handmade by the stallholders’ own hands, in Britain or abroad with fairtrade certification. When you shop at the Bath Christmas Market, you are also supporting all of the wonderful small business owners.

Last year we handpicked over 60 brand-new stallholders, so even if you’d been before, there were plenty of new and exciting things to discover.

Whilst at the Market you’ll always find a range of excellent food, perfect for warming you up on a crisp winter’s day. The memorable atmosphere, created by the hustle and bustle of the market infused by aromas of festive, warming food, is bound to get you in the Christmas spirit.

For somewhere more cosy and indoors, The Lodge was the perfect place to put your feet up. It could be found right at the heart of the Bath Christmas Market on Stall Street.

ROMAN BATHS

The Roman Baths is one of the finest historic sites in Northern Europe, and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the UK. It is run by the Heritage Services section of Bath & North East Somerset Council.

The Roman Baths, at the heart of the City of Bath World Heritage Site, consists of the remarkably preserved remains of one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world. The city’s unique thermal springs rise in the site and the Baths still flow with natural hot water.

Cancellations: Please note that unless the trip is cancelled the payments are non-refundable as the costs need to be paid in advance. However, you may be able to sell your place to your friends or other group members
