About the event

Discover the natural beauty of the Cotswold Hills and join our day hiking trip from London. Meander at a leisurely pace through charming villages and ancient towns. Take in breath-taking historical sites and immerse yourselves in the beauty of the rolling hills and green valleys.

This is a long circular walk from Kingham Station, through Foxholes Nature Reserve, past Bruern Abbey, up onto the ridge at Idbury and Nether Westcote with views down to Bledington.

Distance: 11.40km (7 miles)

Ascent: 77m

Difficulty: Moderate, 4 out of 10.

Kingham is a peaceful and secluded village, once chosen as Country Life's 'England's Favourite Village', yet it has a mainline train service to London - only 90 minutes away. The station is about a mile from the village center.

Kingham is set in the broad Evenlode valley with wide open village greens at its northern end bordered by elegant cottages, many dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The village is an excellent center for walking and cycling with a number of walks and cycle rides centered on the village. Nearby attractions include Churchill and Sarsden Heritage Centre and Daylesford Organic.

Start and End: London Paddington, next to the ticket counter by platforms 1 and 2.

Time: 08:45

At 9:12 am sharp we will make our way to the platform, so please make sure that you arrive on time as we will not be waiting for the latecomers.

We will arrive in Kingham at 10.40am. It is very difficult to predict exact return time as it depends on the walking speed of the particular group and the choices we make along the way (lunch, route etc). If you decide to join, please consider yourself committed for the day.

Price: £35 for a guided hike and train tickets. If you are paying via PayPal you will be also charged a PayPal fee, all together £36.22.

Please note that unless the trip is cancelled the payments are non-refundable as the costs need to be paid in advance. However, you may be able to sell your place to your friends or other group members.
