About the event
St Leonard’s Forest is an 800 acre forest situated between Horsham and Crawley. It is owned by the Forestry Commission and is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). It is rich in wildlife including butterflies and woodpeckers. According to legend it was also the home of St Leonard the Dragon Slayer who slew the last dragon in England!
This is a circular walk starting and finishing at Horsham train station (Postcode: RH12 1RD).
Lenght: 13 miles ( 22km)
Price: £5 ( +Paypal fee)
The terrain is flat along mostly clearly defined paths. We shall be stopping for lunch at a pub called (appropriately enough) The Dragon in the small village of Colgate. However, if you’d prefer you can bring a packed lunch instead.
Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear on the hike. We also recommend bringing a waterproof jacket with you and a bottle of water.
Cancellations: Please note that unless the trip is cancelled the payments are non-refundable as the costs need to be paid in advance. However, you may be able to sell your place to your friends or other group members
