Trolltunga Adventure in Norway

Join us in 2019 to visit one of the most iconic views in Norway – Trolltunga, the Troll’s tongue; situated 1100 metres above sea level, and 700 metres above lake Ringedalsvatnet.

Experience both sunset and sunrise from our camp close to Trolltunga, with spectacular scenery of the Lake.

This trek is perfect for those who want to get as much time as possible at Trolltunga, to be there when the sun sets and have time alone looking down at the majestic valley.

Experience the quiet and the special light in the morning before the crowds come marching in. It`ll ensure you the perfect picture!

ITINERARY:

DAY 1 Wednesday

Flight to Bergen. Airport transfer.

BERGEN TOUR

Bergen sits on Norway’s western coast and is the country’s second biggest city but has a small town charm, filled with majestic scenery & unique attractions.

Walking tour of key sights that this quaint city offers and dwelve into it's culture, history and the story of its Hanseatic merchants, stockfish trade and geography. We'll also visit Bryggen (UNESCO World Heritage) site.

Day 2 Thursday

Early morning we`ll catch a bus (3 hours) that will take us to Tyssedal.

Tyssedal is located in a valley between a fjord to the west and the mountains leading up to the Hardangervidda mountain plateau to the east.

HIKE 1: LILLETOP HIKE (A short hike to warm up before Trolltunga)

Hike to Lilletop (a water installation / hydro facility) high above the fjord.

A 2 hour hike with amazing views from the top. Dinner and time to relax before the big day.

Day 3 Friday

HIKE 2: TROLLTUNGA HIKE

The hike starts at 11.00 and follows the trail up to Gryteskar with great views of Folgefonna Glacier.

MOUNTAIN LUNCH

On the way, we`ll have a classic Norwegian mountain lunch. We should be at the cliff around 17.00 (depending on the pace of the group).

PULPIT ROCK (PREIKESTOLEN)

We'll stay at a beautiful campsite near Trolltunga, with stunning views. Here you'll find the original Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), which was the main attraction in the old days. A stunning cliff that’s almost forgotten and just as magical as the more famous Trolltunga.

DINNER AT CAMPSITE

We'll have a traditional Norwegian dinner around the campfire.

HIKE 3: NIGHT HIKE

Optional short hike at night, it's a little steep but the view over the Hardangervidda Plateau is magnificent.

Day 4 Saturday

After breakfast, we walk back to Trolltunga, back at the parking lot between 2pm-4pm. Back to Bergen.

Day 5 Sunday

A free day in Bergen

Water cruise:

Experience fjords and mountains on a 3 hour cruise to Osterfjord and the picturesque Mostraumen, pass mountains, waterfalls & powerful currents

Bus tour with Fløibanen Funicular.

Explore Bergen’s key attractions: Fish Market, Bergen Museum, The Grieg Hall, The Fløibanen Funicular, St. Mary’s Church
